Cutting Pink With Knives

Cutting Pink with Knives were an electronic grindcore band from London. Active in the British independent music scene between 2004 and 2008, the band were known for their chaotic and energetic live performances.〔http://drownedinsound.com/gigs/15632/reviews/662845〕
== Band history ==

The group began performing live on the London circuit following the digital release of their first LP, ''Alef Alef Alef!'' on Canada's digital hardcore label, D-Trash Records.
The band was originally a solo project of Eddy Frankel; the incorporation of touring members Chris Abitbol (vocals) and Dan Antell (bass guitar) drove the band away from their more aggressive early material, and helped define the group as being uniquely different from their counterparts in the UK grindcore/hardcore scene.
2005 marked the group's first print release with London Casio-grind band Trencher – the now rare 5" vinyl ''The Process of Villages Burning Down''. Following this, the band were subsequently signed to London-based Adaadat Records and released their first full-length commercial LP, ''Oh Wow!'' (2006) to considerable acclaim.
In 2007, Antell left the band to concentrate on his career as a nurse. Following an interview with Alex Fitzpatrick for a UK metal magazine, Fitzpatrick was recruited to perform alongside the remaining members as bassist. Allegedly, Fitzpatrick had hoped to sign the group to his own label (Holy Roar Records) prior to the interview, and as such, 2008's ''Populuxxe'' was released as part of their summer catalogue. ''Populuxxe'' was also released as a limited edition 10" vinyl from Isomorph Records (founded by British graphic design artist Kate Moross).
In August 2007, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 1 aired a live session with Cutting Pink With Knives. Several songs from Populuxxe were played as well as a few from previous CDs.〔http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/b5e930af-11ce-41f9-9a90-207b0908f10c/〕〔http://www.holyroarrecords.com〕
After extensive touring supporting bands of many different genres – including An Albatross, Kate Nash, The Locust, Polysics, Tinchy Stryder, and DJ Scotch Egg – and playing festivals like ZXZW, the band split amicably in July 2008, following their final performance at Belgian festival Rock Herk.〔http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IhVWWCMLUI〕〔http://www.myspace.com/cuttingpinkwithknives〕
On September 21, 2009, Holy Roar Records made Cutting Pink With Knives' discography available for download. It included over 100 tracks of previously unreleased songs, demos, the complete BBC live session, and the last three songs they recorded as a band.〔http://www.holyroarrecords.com/〕
